About Us
Established in 1983, Browns 2000 are a family owned and managed business with a 220,000 square foot facility in Northumberland.
The state of the art factory is equipped with the latest SCM routers and fully automated press lines from Burkle and Wemhoner.
Currently around 75 staff are employed and each week over 25,000 vinyl wrapped MDF doors and accessories are created to customer's specific orders.
We also produce a range of Glacier doors, which have a superior high gloss finish using laminated acrylic or PVC, edged with laser technology.
In our glass division, we offer clear and frosted glazed doors, diamond polished shelves and mirrors with the option of bevelled edge or even etched patterns.
Customers can place orders by fax, email or using our 'Brownsonline' ordering system and have
queries answered personally by our friendly
sales team.

Our service also includes dispatching orders using our own fleet of wagons and vans to ensure the high quality products reach customers in perfect condition.
Vinyl door production
CNC routering
All orders are grouped by colour and combined into batches to be routered on one of 9 double headed SCM nesting routers. One line is a fully automated combination of loading, routing, unloading and sanding, the first in the world and specifically designed to Browns own specification. This method of production enables us to produce multiple bespoke orders very rapidly with minimal handling.
Pressing process
After routing, doors are sanded then go to one of three fully automated press lines, one Wemhoner and two Burkle rotation presses. All of these have CEFLA Spraybotic glue spraying and drying ovens using heat produced by boilers fuelled with MDF waste. Once pressed, trimmers and back sanders finish the doors leaving a clean reverse for inspection.
Curved doors
Curved doors are increasingly a 'must have' item in modern kitchens and bedrooms. With full in-house production comprising hydraulic forming presses, 5th axis CNC routers and two deep chamber vinyl presses, Browns can produce most of their designs in all colours.

We offer convex and concave door options, in a range of heights and essential accessories such
as flexible plinths and curved pelmets.

Glacier door production
New factory
All of our specialist equipment is housed in a purpose built factory incorporating a dust free controlled environment for the laminating process
to ensure the mirror gloss finish.

Lamination
Browns have installed two Burkle automatic laminating lines which use PUR hot melt adhesive to instantly bond a surface layer of Senoplast Acrylic
or high gloss PVC woodgrain to an MDF core. Balancing this on the reverse is HPL laminate
which is either gloss or silver.

Laser edgebanding
To produce the highest quality gloss doors possible we have a Stefani edge bander which uses a laser
to melt REHAU mirror gloss edging tape to the laminated board, giving a seamless join.

Glass division
Glazed doors
Frame and feature doors can be made in all of our styles in any door size, and glazed using either clear or frosted laminated glass, fixed in the door with mitred beading.
Mirrored Doors
Particulary suited to bedrooms or bathrooms we
can fix mirrors into the face side of the doors using arised polished edge or bevelled edge mirror.
Wall mirrors and dressing table mirrors also feature in our range.

Glass shelves
Whether it be an internal shelf in a glazed cupboard or bracket mounted, on a wall, 6.4mm laminated glass is the solution chosen by discerning customers. The diamond polished arised edge
is attractive and safe.
