Sustainability

Browns 2000 understand the importance of environmental issues and operate in a sustainable way to ensure future generations can continue to build on current successes.

Our main raw material, MDF is sourced solely from FSC accredited suppliers, ensuring well managed forestry is used to produce this essential product.

The process waste such as MDF dust and off cuts are 100 % used on site being burnt as fuel to heat two 850KW boilers, which provide heat throughout the entire factory and offices, and also heats the glue drying processes.

The second major raw material, PVC vinyl is sourced from European companies operating to strict environmental controls and the process waste is recycled by our local partner Aim To Recycle.

Lighting in all areas is the most efficient low wattage type and natural daylight is used wherever possible. These measures ensure Browns 2000 already have a low carbon footprint and we continue to look for other developments, where we can save energy and reduce waste which makes good business and environmental sense for the future.
